Deliverables

The activities in this task group have resulted in the following deliverables:

  • Organiser of ECOserve Workshop on 24 March 2003 at Dura Vermeer BV, the Netherlands
  • Indicators for Assessing Improvements in the Construction Industry, ECOserve Task 2 Report, November 2004, 13 pp (pdf)
  • Environmental Baseline and Indicators, ECOserve Task 2 Report, November 2004, 94 pp (pdf)
  • Summary of Environmental Baseline and Best Available Technology, ECOserve Task 2 Report November 2004, 43 pp (pdf)
  • Calculation tool for determining the environmental impact of various pavement technologies. More information regarding this Excel spreadsheet tool is found under "Pavements" and a description is also found in the above-mentioned reports
  • Calculation tool for the CO2 net balance of concrete production. This Excel spreadsheet includes CO2 emissions from manufacturing of raw materials to casting of structures. Furthermore, the demolition phase is included and results from a Nordic R&D project are integrated in order to include the CO2 uptake during carbonation. Examples of such calculations are found in the powerpoint presentation "CO2 balance calculations on concrete production including full life cycle" (ppt)
  • Representing the network in the European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP) in order to put the ideas and the wishes of the ECOserve members on the agenda for the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme
  • Presenting the ECOserve network at various conferences and events around Europe. Most recently the network has been presented in key-note speeches on "Global Construction, Ultimate concrete opportunities", Univ. of Dundee, July 2005 and at Nordic Concrete Day, Stockholm, November 2005
  • Participating in a task group of the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib) on "Guidelines for environmental design" with members from around the world
