Performance of blended cements

This ecological aspect is not the only argument in favour of blended cements. They are a good alternative to Portland cement under technical aspects, too. The influence that different main constituents of cement have on concrete properties is discussed on the basis of a comparison between concrete made from Portland cement and concrete made from cements containing limestone or blastfurnace cements, for example. No cement - not even Portland cement - provides the perfect solution for all areas of application. A lot of technical benefits can be drawn from the use of blended cements.
