Environmental baseline and indicators (Task Group 2)

Objectives

This task is linking the four ECOserve clusters together in its attempt to formulate environmental indicators for benchmarking environmental performance of production of aggregates, cement, con-crete and pavements. The task group for Environmental Baseline and Indicators is a part of the ECOserve Management activities. Its main objectives are:

• To create a pan-European baseline for the best available technologies and the environmental impact as regards the production and use of cement, aggregate, concrete and pavement in a life cycle perspective.
• To establish and validate environmental indicators for innovative cement, aggregate, con-crete and pavement products.
• To establish an interactive platform for mapping stakeholders through the E-core network facilities.

Outcome of the work

The activities have resulted in a series of deliverables. In addition some articles were written.

Partners

The participants of the Environmental Baseline and Indicators are Danish Technological Institute and INTRON. Furthermore, data is gathered from the other clusters in order to provide the full picture of the construction industry.
