Co-ordination
with activities in New Associated States (Task Group 5)
Objectives
The objectives of task group 5 responsible
for "Co-ordination with activities in New Associated States",
can be summarized as follows:
- To identify form and communication
systems for accessing stakeholders in the ECOserve field
- To establish a record of applied
practice in the geographical area represented by the New Associated
States in regard to
- Standards
- General technical specifications
- Environmental indicators and tools
- To establish an overview of present
volumes of production within the ECOserve domain and of use of
industrial by-products in concrete construction
- To collect information about national plans in the New Associated
States related to European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP)
Description of work
The initial task at hand will be to conclude a
membership contract with representatives from all the New Associated
States, i.e. Bulgaria, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary,
Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The succeeding
work will consist of the following sub-tasks:
- Mapping of applied practice in the field of
Quality Assurance an Control. This work will be reated to Technical
Standards, their status and correspondence with CEN standards
- Collection of data and preparation of a report
on consumption of cement, aggregate and concrete. Estimation of
the potential contribution to the ECO-Serve objective in the field
of the NAS area
- Collection of data and
preparation of a report on use of industrial by-products in production
of concrete and in road construction
- Follow up on activities in regard to formation
of National Construction Technology Platforms (NCTP) in New Applicant
States
- Demonstrate, based on this and on the results
in the four clusters, the positive environmental aspects of the
ECOserve approach by technical lectures and publications in selected
local languages.
Achievements
Membership contracts with 6 members from
New Applicant States have been concluded. There are still missing
some members, i.e. from Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Latvia. Contacts
are being developped and renewed here.
This is a partial achievement of deliverable D5.1.
This deliverable has been extended for the whole duration of the
network.

Partners
This task will be performed by the Polish Academy
of Science (PAS). DBT will make the liaison with the other Task
Groups.
