Some research needs and other special needs have been identified over the course of the ECOserve Network. This was one of the main objectives of the Network as these research needs are considered vital for the evolution towards sustainability of the industries' products and production processes:

• The cement industry
• The aggregates industry
• The concrete industry
• The pavement industry
  

Additionally, some bullets in the 7th Framework Programme (FP7) are identified, for which it could be possible for the construction sector to submit projects.
